Bubbles rise but bombs sink! This is a playable demo of the game of Bubbles. It is basically a version of Columns or Baku Baku and extremely well done. Complete with characters, music, and action! See the bubbles.doc for details. (self-extracting zip file, size is 553k.) (For Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and Windows NT.) Cake Fight by Frieve. The cupcakes can shoot!? No fair! This is a Windows 95 overhead shooter game and it is very well done. Shoot everything in sight with your frosting, candles, and cake slicers! Collect the starry decorations for power ups! (self-extracting zip file, size is 501k.) Daisy Skatin' v1.1 by J. Fujisawa. Daisy Penguin Skates for Home! This game demonstrates the need for rhythm while ice-skating. Using the mouse, help Daisy skate the course within the time limit while dodging ice holes and the like. Engaging game done in Visual Basic! (Self-extracting Windows zip file, size is 112k.) (Requires the Visual Basic v4.0 runtime package (455k)) Dogarr A platform-style game featuring a cute propellor-headed hero. (Zip file, size is 104k) Doreamon Attack 2 v1.0 by Kunio. Think your good with a mouse, eh? Try this one! There comes a time when everyone who uses a mouse thinks they are really good with that mouse. Doreamon Attack will prove just how good you really are! You must protect your red bean cake cursor from the attacking robot cats by moving it out of the way. Everytime you get hit, you lose a point. Lose all your points and the game is over. Sounds easy? It's not! (self-extracting zip file, size is 153k.) (Requires DirectX, now available on Otaku World!) (Thanks to Wei-Hwa Huang for the proper description of Doreamon!) Egger Land v1.20 from HAL Labs Japan. Lolo for the PC! YEAH! Remember the game Lolo on the old Nintendo (NES)? Well, HAL Labs has created a version based on the original japanese release of Egger Land (the original title in Japan). This is a beautiful demo of the game and just as puzzling too! Only sad part is the commercial version of Egger Land is not available in the U.S. However, enjoy the playable demo! Not only that, this version includes a complete level editor! Supports mouse, keyboard, and joystick. Caveats: most of the dialogs are in japanese but the language isn't even visible on U.S. machines. The main dialog to note is when you exit the program, you are presented with three choices: the left button is autosave, the center button is cancel, and the right button is a Save As option. (self-extracting zip file, size is 1341k.) (Warning: help file cannot be viewed on non-japanese systems!) (Requires DirectX 2 or better, now available on Otaku World!) Faleal Story by Frieve. A role-playing game -- in japanese no less! For the true Otaku, this is a role-playing game written in japanese. It has all the basic elements of a role-playing game: story, characters, magic, fighting and mayhem. Faleal Story also has pretty graphics and nice music. Of course, it's all in japanese but that shouldn't stop the true Otaku! (self-extracting zip file, size is 842k.) (requires vbrjp200.dll.) (use of the Multi-Language Viewer is suggested to read the Kanji.) Friel v1.0 by Frieve. A beautiful time-wast-- uh... game! This little game is a version of Tetris. However, cute creatures drop down two at a time and the object is to get five or more in touching each other in three or more consecutive rows. Diagonal touching is permitte for some of the five. That's as far as we have decoded it. Great music, cute graphics. (self-extracting zip file, size is 201k.) (requires vbrjp200.dll.) Frieve Tower v1.0 by Frieve. Run! Run! Run! A "run up and down the ladders through the warp dots to find the keys to open the door to the next level" game. This game offers an interesting twist on the maze game: the two monsters are always in the same position on every screen. This means you sometimes need to warp to a screen that allows you to draw the monsters away from the spot on the other screen where you wanted to go in the first place. (self-extracting zip file, size is 302k.) (requires vbrjp200.dll.) Jiji's Egg Adventure Jiji is catching eggs! Another game featuring that adorable cat, Jiji. This game is all in japanese but is sooo pretty you will want to see it. (Self-extracting Windows zip file, size is 832k) Jump On! from onion software. Were gymnastics really this painful!? The goal here is simple: click the mouse button at the right time to make the gymnast land on her feet. If you mistime your click, she kisses the floor resoundingly! Three levels of difficulty. Strangely addictive. (Self-extracting Windows zip file, size is 130k) Legend of Keiichi IV v1.0 by Frieve. Run, jump, hack, slash! Kill the monsters for the gold, trade in the gold for items and magic to kill more monsters to get more gold, etc. This is harder than it looks and it looks beautiful. (maybe Win32s under Windows 3.1)) Lord Monarch from Nihon Falcom Co. Ever want to push people around? Now's your chance! This game is sort of a cross between the classics Populous and Warcraft. At least, that's the first level. The second level takes place in a fast food restaurant! There are more levels too. This is a complete game -- for free even! No registration, nothing! As Nihon Falcom says "Enjoy!" (Self-extracting Windows zip file, size is 1146k) (discovered by Jim Lin) Moon Kids' Paradise from Bio100%. Moon Lander gone horribly cute! This deceptively simple-looking game will have you in tears of frustration until you get the hang of it. The object is to land the kids on the surface using the arrow keys for direction and the space bar for jets. Since the kids are moving at mach 7 (or some such ridiculous speed), your reactions are measured in the milliseconds. That's what makes this game challenging. (self-extracting zip file, size is 75k.) (created by Andre Plaámeier.) Trouble Ball v1.0 by Frieve. Tired of being pushed around? This game is a variation on Poco-ban (Poco-Man in the U.S.A.). The goal is to push the colored balls into each other to get them to go away. However, only like-colored balls can be removed this way. If the colors don't match, the balls change color. And you thought Poco-ban was hard! More mind-mangling fun from Frieve. THere is a readme.txt file that explains the mechanics of the game. (self-extracting zip file, size is 344k.) Use the wrong shot and the Thing will shoot back! Even the stars themselves don't like to be hit with the wrong shot! Mouse control. Slash your way through walking and flying robots and/or armored men as you attempt to reach and defeat the enormous boss!
