As we approach the month of October, many people are wondering if it is too late to reserve a room at the hotel, or to get a ticket for a 3 day pass to the 'con. The answer to that is "IT IS NOT TOO LATE!" Here's the latest details: ROBOCON 1O OCTOBER 6-8, 1995 - GRAND HOTEL - ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA PROGRESS REPORT #3 "THE ROBOCON PROJECT WAS OUR LAST, BEST HOPE FOR PEACE." Welcome to our third progress report; on behalf of the staff of ROBOCON 1O, I want to personally thank you for your interest in being a part of this convention. We've all come a long way in the ten years since ROBOTECH's premiere in March of 1985. Over this past decade, Japanimation fandom in Europe and the Western Hemisphere has grown and prospered into a multi-million dollar industry. Today, dozens of companies are marketing and promoting this art form to the masses, with more and more titles entering the market everyday. There is no doubt that ROBOTECH made an immeasurable contribution to the Japanese Animation "boom" that resulted in the late 80's and still shows no signs of slowing down. Over the weekend of October 6-8, 1995, we hope that ROBOCON 1O will help to serve as a fitting tribute to this landmark animated series. Among the activities we have planned are panels with the voice actors, people who worked behind the scenes, those involved in creating the music, and various representatives of the american anime industry. Please write and tell us what you would be interested in seeing. AS OF MARCH 25, HARMONY GOLD HAS ENDORSED US AS THE OFFICIAL TENTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF ROBOTECH. THEIR ASSISTANCE WILL HELP US BRING VARIOUS LICSENSEES AND ROBOTECH AFFILIATED COMPANIES TO OUR CONVENTION. THESE INCLUDE: DEL REY, PLAYMATES, ACADEMY COMICS AND PALLADIUM BOOKS.
