Jupiter Eclipsed... =========================================================================== After regrouping at the shrine, Usagi, Ami, Rei and Minako go home wearily, unhappy and worried. As they individually collapse into bed, they all dream about a woman with red hair, reaching out for them with sharp clawed fingers...They all wake up again to a terrible feeling of danger. And their first thoughts are of Mako's safety. But Ami awakes to something more. As she comes to, she realizes there is a shadowed figure moving about her home... she starts to grab for her broach, but a hand grabs her wrist, telling her to be still for a moment. Even in her dreams, Mako is tormented by the accusing and hateful voices. But then, through the cloud of dark figures shines a bright, pure light, and out of that light emerges a figure: Asahi. She reaches out her hand for Mako's. "Your true nature has been buried under these dark people who claim to be your friends. But look how they treat you when you can't hear them! Mako-chan, the Moon has suppressed you and lied to you. Let the Sun burn away the Moon's false light so you can see the truth of things. Please, join me, take my hand. " Mako reaches out... and is wakened by the sound of her watch beeping. She opens it up and sees Sailor Moon saying that they need Sailor Jupiter, quickly! There are demons of some kind attacking night watchmen in the park... Mako nods and starts to transform into Sailor Jupiter as Sailor Moon 'hangs up'. But something goes terribly wrong in her henshin, and her own power backfires on her, knocking her unconscious instantly. Around her fallen body crystal begins to form, until she's transformed into a crysmal! Back in her own house, Ami tries to grab for her watch as it goes off, but the invader's other hand pins her back onto her bed. She hears a boy's voice saying "Don't fight me, we don't have time. You can't use that broach to transform, do you understand?" Ami feels herself being released and she quickly turns on a light. Poseidon looks at back at her. Ami grabs up her broach anyway, despite the warning, and starts to transform into Sailor Mercury. Poseidon yells at her to stop, but it's too late, and Ami's henshin backfires, flooding the room with water. Poseidon gestures at the flood and parts it, just in time to save Ami from drowning. He wipes the hair back from Ami's forehead and tells her kind of scoldingly (and embarr- assedly, because he finds himself holding her in his arms) that she should have listened to him the first time. Then he says, "I'll give you the power to transform for this time. Sailor Jupiter's in terrible danger." Ami blinks at him, but he grabs her hand and changes her into Super Sailor Mercury. Then they both teleport away. Sailor Moon, Sailor Mars and Sailor Venus are fighting the demons in the park. It's very difficult for them because the demons fall into dust and earth each time they are hit, and reform just as strong. Then, the solar figure that had called itself Sailor Sol appears and gives Venus and Mars crystals that change into their new broaches. Mars and Venus transform into Super Sailor Mars and Super Sailor Venus. While they are changing, the giant crysmal appears and starts to attack Sailor Moon. Sailor Sol tells them that they must kill this crysmal quickly, because it's a incubator of other crysmals. Then, she gives Venus and Mars new weapons to go with their Super forms: for Venus, a magical chain, and for Mars, a ruby staff. She tells them again that they must destroy this crysmal, then she disappears. Just as she does so, Super Sailor Mercury appears with Poseidon. Mercury starts to scan the solar figure, but before she can get a full image both she and Poseidon are attacked by some of the demons. Poseidon curses and says that this is Hades's doing, and starts attacking the demons while trying to protect Mercury. Mercury starts to fight too, using her new attack, the 'Mercury Flooding Bow' (a golden bow that shoots water 'arrows'). The crysmal (containing Mako within) attacks again, and inside it, Mako hears Asahi's voice telling her to open her eyes and look around. The true feelings of her so-called friends are about to be revealed. Within the crysmal, Mako opens her eyes, and sees Venus useing her new attack, the 'Venus Chain Escalation', and Mars using the 'Mars Staggering Staff Flame'- both directed straight at her. She starts to scream... Mercury's visor pings, showing her that Mako is trapped inside the crysmal. She runs to Mars and Venus, screaming at them to stop their attacks, but seeing that there's no time, she throws herself between the attacks and the crysmal, taking severe damage. Moreover, the attacks pass THROUGH her and continue on to hit the crysmal, destroying it. Mercury collapses and the crysmal explodes, releasing Mako's very badly burned and wounded body. Mars and Venus are utterly horrified; Sailor Moon screams Ami and Mako's names and runs toward them, already pulling out the Ginzuishou from her broach... Then, Asahi appears and gasps in horror, shoving Sailor Moon aside to cradle Mako in her arms. She looks up angrily and says that she had no idea the Sailor Senshi were into harming innocent girls. Sailor Moon starts to protest this, but Asahi very rudely just tells her to shut up, and holds Mako very sadly in her arms. Sailor Mars and Sailor Venus try to go to Mako but Asahi yells at them too. Unnoticed by everyone, Mercury struggles back to consciousness and starts to scan Asahi. She gasps at the great level of power that she reads there.. and even though it's a partial reading, it seems to be like that of the solar figure.. Poseidon appears at her side then. He whispers to her that he's very sorry, and then uses his 'wave trident' attack on her at close range. Mercury's last thought is a regretful "I should have told Usagi-chan.." As she falls into his arms, Poseidon teleports away with her... Mako starts to open her eyes. Asahi's eyes stare into hers for a moment, and Mako's eyes cloud up. Then Asahi helps Mako up. Mars and Venus try to apologize, but Mako just turns away from them, leaning on Asahi for support. Sailor Moon says "Mako-chan", and Mako turns back to her with a very hurt and betrayed look. Mako says, "Don't ever talk to me again. Don't even come near me." and she limps away with Asahi's help, leaving the other Senshi just staring helplessly in her wake. Sailor Moon remembers some of the things Mako said during their tea party, and runs after her, sobbing. After a moment Mars follows. But Venus lags behind, looking around as the rain pours down and the lightning crashes. She says softly, "Something is terribly wrong here. Mako-chan leaving us..." She gasps and then realizes: "Mercury's gone too..." --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next time: The Perils of Mercury ^_^.
