ANIME HOSPITAL Episode #1, scene 1 Toni casually took her usual seat at the table with her friends. They were all chatting with the new nurse, Heather, whom they had invited to join them. Somehow Heather had weeded out of Mike his passion for poetry and he was regaling her with one of his own bad creations. Toni hoped he wouldn't eventually regret that decision. Pam simply listened appreciatively as she munched her salad. "Hi, Heather!" Toni said. "How's your first day?" Heather turned and greeted the receptionist. "Great, Toni! Everyone's so friendly here, and the guys are just gorgeous, especially in those flimsy hospital gowns!" Toni stole a glance at Mike at that comment, and saw that the brawny nurse was blushing furiously. "Still, the place is rather odd," Heather continued. She swept a lock of her long red hair away from her face and winked at Speed Racer as he walked by. "Any tips for getting used to this place?" "Yeah," Toni said as she bit into her hamburger. "Don't ever give Ranma a sponge bath." At the next table, C-ko was offering A-ko her latest cullinary collection, and the redheaded anime girl was doing her absolute best to turn her down without hurting her friend's feelings. "Pay no attention to them," Toni advised Heather, who was watching the spectacle with curiosity. "They do that all the time." Just then the founder of Anime Hospital, Dr Karl von Schtoopenstein, walked in. He had the perfect mad scientist look, complete with burned and torn lab coat and frizzy hair that completely lacked any sense of order. "Ah, I see ve are all getting to know our new nurse. Gut, gut. Und how are you Heather?" "Oh just fine, Doctor," Heather said flashing her most winning smile. "I like this place a lot. Everyone's so helpful." "Well, you all, all you have to do is ask for anything," Karl offered. "Could I have a raise?" Heather piped instantly. "Vhy sure! I'll take care of it right after lunch," the ratty haired man said, and walked off to the salad bar. "She's good," Pam remarked. "Not really. He'll forget by the time lunch is over," Toni replied, and Mike and Pam nodded in agreement. After lunch they passed a darkhaired man buried in gumballs, plunking quarters feverishly into the machine while he screamed, "More! More! I must have more!" "Make sure you're on time for your appontment, Leon," Toni reminded him as she passed by, but it didn't look like he paid any attention. "What was that?" Heather said as she glanced back at the scene. "Bubblegum crisis," Toni said matter-of-factly.
