Seventh Tarz Armstrong’s “The World is Mine” album has been one of my highly listened to albums this summer.

With one album and two E.P.’s under her belt, Seventh Tarz Armstrong is back with what I would probably call a concept album (or a very short album) titled “7-SHORTRACKS”.

On the information on the CD, they call it “Language Destruction Sounds” but for those who have purchased a punk album from Japan, its typical to find two minute tracks.

Seventh Tarz Armstrong is not exactly a full on punk album but more of an alternative rock album (that incorporates some punk style to it) and for those not familiar with Seventh Tarz Armstrong’s music, she has the spunk of Avril Lavigne (and the dark mascara), a higher pitched voice (think YUKI of Judy and Mary fame) and plays guitar.

I guess the reason why I enjoy her music so much is because she attended CSU Bakersfield (not far from here) and her music is unlike anything that’s out from the Cutting Edge label. It’s catchy, it’s fun and it rocks!
The album comes with a total of seven tracks and some are around 2:40 minutes and half are under two minutes long.

The thing is that the tracks are very good. I liked them a lot and all in all a good (short) album.

I want more Seventh Tarz Armstrong but not necessarily shorties but taking it for what it is, another cool release, good music, loud grungy guitars and I really dig the music coming from her.

The CD-insert features the lyrics booklet done in a 3-D type of way with red and blue and in fact, comes with a cardboard cutout of glasses to make your own 3-D glasses. Unfortunately, there is no lens and the glasses ask for you to use your own red and blue film.

Personally, I dislike albums that are all short tracks but the good news is that this album is about the price of a CD single ($12) rather than a full priced album.

I kind of feel that Seventh Tarz Armstrong is that breath of fresh air that one can always turn to and know you are going to enjoy the music.

I made the comparison of her vocals to YUKI of Judy and Mary and I know that many bands can be compared to JAM but I guess the best explanation I can give is the feeling I had when I first listened to Judy and Mary back in the mid-90’s, I found that band so unique at that time that I was quite stoked each time I listened to their music.

Flash forward nearly a decade later and I feel that same vibe with Seventh Tarz Armstrong and how she appeals to the youth of today with her rock music.

I also like the tie-in with Fender, Hurley and U.S. Boarder because Seventh Tarz Armstrong musically has that energetic vibe for skaters and surfers.

All in all “7-SHORTRACKS” is a cool album. Again, a bit short for my liking but for its price and if you are wanting to sample Seventh Tarz Armstrong’s music, this album is definitely a good starting point.
