Japantoday.com reported, “Actress Aya Ueto, 23, on Wednesday appeared at an event at Tokyo Midtown to raise awareness about drunk driving. Wearing a police uniform, she urged the public not to drink and drive.”
“Ueto, who got her driver’s license three years ago, said it is hard enough for drivers to keep their wits about them, without being impaired by alcohol. “Whenever I am driving, I always worry whenever pedestrians and cyclists suddenly appear,” she said. ”

Actress/singer Ueto Aya (22) took part in the KOBE COLLECTION 2008 AUTUMN/WINTER fashion show on the 30th which featured the line of fashion by Emmanuel Ungaro.
Ueto Aya will star in the upcoming Fuji TV drama series “Celeb to Daihinmin” (Celebrity and the Poor) which Ueto will play a character similar to a Paris Hilton-like character (ala hotel heiress) and acts against her father by marrying a middle-class man who has three children from previous marriage.

Japantoday.com reported, “Actress Aya Ueto, 22, will play a celebrity who is the daughter of a hotel chain owner in her new TV drama “Celebrity and the Poor” on Fuji TV’s network. In the drama, Ueto’s character gets married to a so-called “working-poor” man with three children, against her father’s wishes.”

Japantoday.com reported, “Actress Aya Ueto, 22, will dub the heroine’s voice in the Japanese-language version of “Speed Racer.” Ueto will supply the voice of Trixie, played by Christina Ricci, in the film directed by the Wachowski brothers.”
“Trixie always teases Speed (main character),” said Ueto. “So I tried to be very animated in my voice characterization. After you watch this film, you will definitely feel like driving a car at top speed on the highway.”

Mainichi Daily News reported that celeb confessions were the top news last week.
According to the article, “A series of confessions filled the top spots of the Mainichi’s Japanese-language entertainment news during the week between Dec. 15 and 21, with actress Aya Ueto, celebrity Yu Aihara, and pinup model Yuri Morishita in the limelight.”
“Meanwhile, 36-year-old actress Norika Fujiwara, who got married in May this year, and 47-year-old actress Naomi Kawashima, who only recently announced her engagement, both revealed that they were considering starting a family.”
“On Dec. 16, during an event to celebrate the release of a new DVD, Ueto, 22, said she had had many ups and downs during the year, and confessed that she had gone through a dark period during which she thought maybe she would “come to an end.”
