[J-ENT] Ex-EE Jump member Yuki Goto sentenced to 5 1/2 years’ jail for assault, theft

Mainichi Daily News reported, “Ex-pop star Yuki Goto has been sentenced to 5 1/2 years in jail by the Tokyo District Court, after he was found guilty of beating a security guard and stealing hundreds of meters of power cables.”

“Goto, 21, was convicted of theft, robbery and assault by Presiding Judge Masahiko Hayashi, who blasted him in his ruling.”

“Your greedy motives mean there is no room for leniency,” Hayashi decreed, although he stopped short of sentencing him for the full eight years recommended by prosecutors.

In October, Goto Yuki (22) and four other co-workers were charged for theft for stealing electric cabling from a construction site. And possibly of other thefts that they are accused of which may have been sold due to the increase of metal prices in the international market.

On the 19th, Goto appeared in court to receive his court date which will take place on January 24th. Goto appeared at the court with his mother and wife and looking very tired according to press reports.

Goto was a member of EE JUMP and back in 2002, was fired for his lack of professionalism. He is the brother of Goto Maki, former member of Morning Musume.
