Derek Jeter and Jorge Posada celebrate the New York Yankees’ victory in the 2009 World Series when they visit the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN tonight, Thursday, Nov. 5 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
On Wednesday night, the Bronx Bombers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-to-3 at the new Yankee Stadium to take Game 6 and win their first World Series victory in nine years and 27th title in franchise history, more than any other team in Major League Baseball. Yankees Captain Jeter and catcher Posada notched their fifth World Series titles as teammates, along with Game 6-winning pitcher Andy Pettitte and closer Mariano Rivera (who, last night, marked the fourth time he got the final out in a World Series) – all four were lynchpins of the Yankees’ four Series titles in five years: 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000.
Also visiting the LATE SHOW tonight are comedian Bill Maher and country music superstar Keith Urban.
The LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN is a production of Worldwide Pants Incorporated. Barbara Gaines, Matt Roberts, Jude Brennan, Maria Pope and Rob Burnett are the executive producers.

October 6, 2009 by J!-ENT · View Comments
Today during a taping of the Late Show, David Letterman apologized for the attention and inquiries that have been aimed at his staff and family. Below is an excerpt:
“I’m terribly sorry that I put the staff in that position. Inadvertently, I just wasn’t thinking ahead. And, moreover, the staff here has been wonderfully supportive to me, not just through this furor, but through all the years that we’ve been on television and especially all the years here at CBS, so, again, my thanks to the staff for, once again, putting up with something stupid I’ve gotten myself involved in.
“Now the other thing is my wife, Regina. She has been horribly hurt by my behavior, and when something happens like that, if you hurt a person and it’s your responsibility, you try to fix it. And at that point, there’s only two things that can happen: either you’re going to make some progress and get it fixed, or you’re going to fall short and perhaps not get it fixed, so let me tell you folks, I got my work cut out for me.”

Revelations of an extortion plot against talk show host David Letterman is now coming out. Letterman revealed during a taping of “The Late Show” that he was a victim of an alleged extortion plot in which someone demanded $2 million three weeks ago in exchange for the person to keep quiet about sexual liaisons Letterman had with members of his staff.
Letterman said that he testified to the Grand Jury and was asked if he had sexual relationships with his staff members. Letterman said, “My response to that is, yes I have. Would it be embarrassing if it were made public? Perhaps it would. I feel like I need to protect these people—I need to certainly protect my family.”

The highly anticipated appearance of President Obama on “Late Night with David Letterman” was quite entertaining. The president wanted to address a controversy telling Letterman, “First of all, I think it’s important to remember that I was actually black before the election.” Here is a video from President Obama’s appearance on the show:

June 15, 2009 by J!-ENT · View Comments
Some comedians have a hard time admitting they are wrong when they make an bad or offensive joke but for David Letterman, the late night host showed some class as he apologized for a joke made last week aimed at Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol while at a New York Yankees game. Unfortunately, the joke went wrong especially since Sarah Palin was with her 14-year-old daughter Willow, not the 18-year-old Bristol.
According to People Magazine, David Letterman made an apology to the Palin’s on tonight’s episode.
“It’s not your fault that it was misunderstood, it’s my fault,” Letterman said, getting applause from the audience. “So I would like to apologize, especially to the two daughters involved, Bristol and Willow, and also to the governor and her family and everybody else who was outraged by the joke. I’m sorry about it and I’ll try to do better in the future. Thank you very much.”
Lauren Conrad on “LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN”
October 28, 2008 by Dennis Amith · View Comments
Lauren Conrad from MTV’s “The Hills” was a special guest on “LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN” on Monday night.
You never know how “The Hills” stars would be received by Letterman, especially when he and Spencer Pratt didn’t get off to a good start on the show.
Overall, LC did a good job on the show and talk about the show and her upcoming clothing line but she was about to answer in regards to her and Heidi and the magazine reporting that the two patched things up. But I was wondering how much of that was true. It was funny to hear Letterman bring up Brody. Yikes!
Here is Spencer on “LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN” from back in July 2008. But all in all, Lauren Conrad’s appearance on Letterman was good.
