Mainichi Shimbun reports that Ayaka will be the first female artist in Japan to sell over a million copies for a debut album with “First Message” in over 4 years.
According to the article, “Sales of singer-songwriter Ayaka’s first album are set to surpass 1 million copies in Oricon Inc.’s rankings to be released next Monday, company officials said.”
“This will be the first time that a Japanese female singer’s album has sold 1 million copies since 24-year-old Mika Nakashima’s “True” four years and five months ago.”
