Next time you eat vanilla, know where it came from.
According to an article on Mainichi Daily News, “Mayu Yamamoto, a Japanese researcher who developed a way to extract a vanilla fragrance and flavor from cow dung, has been awarded an Ig Nobel Prize for her efforts.”
“Yamamoto, 26, was given the Ig Nobel Prize for Chemistry at the award ceremony held at Harvard University on Thursday night.”
“She is the 12th Japanese person to have been awarded an Ig-Nobel Prize.”
Vanilla fragrance and flavor from cow dung…who had to be the person to test that out. Ughh..
Ehh??
