[CHINA] Zhang Yimou denies ending film career for govt. job

CRIEnglish.com reported, “Renowned Chinese film director Zhang Yimou, has denied rumors he will become head of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television in Beijing.”

“The rumor said that he will end his directing career and become a bureaucrat after successfully completing his job as director-in-chief of the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony.”

“But Zhang Yimou says he has never had any intention to engage himself in politics. He remarks that shooting films is his lifetime interest and he will dedicate himself to bringing more fantastic movies to the world, the Yangtse Evening News reported.”
