In a recent article on Mainichi Shimbun, Hiroshima U. students have been drinking toilet water since 1993 due to a plumbing mixup.
According to the article, “A plumbing blunder at Hiroshima University’s Higashi-Hiroshima Campus resulted in water for toilet flushing being sent to drinking taps for more than a decade, it has emerged.”
“University officials announced the mix-up on Friday. The problem was uncovered after about 80 students at the campus who drank the water in July fell ill, with symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea.”

CRIEnglish.com reports that a man upset that his girlfriend refused to marry him swallowed the diamond ring he bought for her.
According to the article, “For the special occasion, the man surnamed Xiao had prepared a sumptuous home-cooked dinner, decorated his apartment with roses and purchased a 3,000 yuan (US$396) diamond ring on Tuesday.”
“However, things didn’t go to plan. He told the newspaper that when he proposed, his girlfriend, surnamed Xue, said it was “too soon.” She also said her parents didn’t like him and would not allow her to marry a man with a six-year-old daughter from a previous marriage, Xiao said in the report.”

Mainichi Shimbun reports that a “ramen bath” has been opened at Hakone Kowakien Yunessun, a local theme park and hot spa.
According to the article, “The bath, shaped like a ramen bowl, contains pepper-flavored water colored a light, milky brown, to like tonkotsu (pork bone) ramen soup. The special bath was created jointly by the theme park and a famous ramen shop, Nantsuttei in Hadano, Kanagawa Prefecture.”

According to the article, “Hideto Abe, a driver from Minami Arupusu, Yamanashi Prefecture, stands accused of public indecency.”
“He arrived at a McDonald’s outlet in Showa, Yamanashi Prefecture, on Sunday. From inside his car, he exposed his genitals before two female workers who were in the drive-through counter of the outlet, police said.”

An octopus is responsible for unearthing 12th Century pottery from Korea’s Koryo period on May 18th according to Chosun.
According to the article, “Kim Yong-chul, a 58-year-old fisherman from Taean, South Chungcheong Province, dreamed of swimming before going to work on May 18, which is believed to bring luck. To catch webfoot octopus, which like to hide in shells, he had scattered hundreds of spiny turban shell bait on the shore the day before. When he pulled in the bait, he found some pottery pieces stuck to the suckers of webfoot octopus. One animal was attached to a plate dating to the Koryo period.”

In a recent news article on Chosun, a man who was frustrated with customer service for SK Telecom decided to make a statement by driving his friend’s Mercedes Benz through the front door of SK Telecom.
According to the article, “A man in his 40s, upset with his cell phone service, drove a Mercedes Benz into the front door of the head offices of SK Telecom. Kim, 47, plowed the Mercedes S500 into the lobby of the SK Telecom office in Euljiro 2-ga in Seoul at 1 p.m. on Tuesday. No casualties were reported but a revolving door was seriously injured. The car was registered to Kim’s friend.”

According to Shukan Post, “These days there are many news reports of teenagers assaulting adults, but it was the opposite one night last September.
