Japan’s music producer Tetsuya Komuro arrested for fraud

Super producer Tetsuya Komuro has been arrested for fraud. The music producer who has produced mega-hits for Namie Amuro, globe, TRF, hitomi and many others has been suspected of defrauding a man of 500 million yen.
According to news reports, Komuro offered the man the copyrights to 806 of his songs for the sum of 500 million yen which the man paid for. Komuro did not own the rights to many of those songs and thus the contract was faked.
J!-ENT contacted avex entertainment inc. to get confirmation and clarification of the news reports and avex confirmed that the label avex trax, the label for globe has discontinued all sales of all globe merchandise but also merchandise for the artist physical and digital sales, also anything in relation to the artist. Also, halted is the highly anticipated “Get Wild” CD single which was slated for release on November 26th and “Self Control” slated for release on December 17th.
Avex Entertainment Inc. is celebrating the company 20th Anniversary and Tetsuya Komuro played a major part in the early success of the company. The label’s first major Japanese group TRF stands for Tetsuya’s Rave Factory. Also, the mid-to-late 1990’s was deemed the TK years because he was reponsible for the majority of the hits for artists such as Namie Amuro, Tomomi Kahala, hitomi, Yuki Uchida, Alisa Mizuki, Ami Suzuki, H-Jungle with t and many others. Including having one of the most succesful pop groups at the time with globe which he is currently married to the lead vocalist KEIKO.
The arrest is a shock since Komuro was one of the wealthiest men in Japan and had top the lists of people who paid the most taxes in Japan.
But the question right now is how can one of Japan’s most popular and most wealthiest individuals get to this low point. We’ll have more updates soon.
