[US] DENSHA OTOKO CONTINUES TO GET MORE US PRESS
December 30, 2006 by Dennis Amith
The Japanese story (availabe as dorama, book, anime or film version) of “Densha Otoko” (Train Man) continues to get more US coverage and this time from Wired.
Densha Otoko is about an otaku (although used exclusively by many Americans for hardcore anime fans, in Japan it can be used to anyone obsessed over something. And in this case, the main character is obsessed with Gundam figures and manga) who stands up to a drunk main on the train who is harassing a beautiful woman. The main character goes to his friends (well, Internet friends on a BBS) for their advice when he becomes smitten towards the woman he saves.
