[J-ENT] French director to make Murakami novel “Norgwegian Wood” to film

Mainichi Daily News reported, “Norwegian Wood,” the best-selling novel by Japanese writer Haruki Murakami, will be made into a film for the first time, production company Asmik Ace Entertainment Inc. advised.”

“The film will be directed by Vietnamese-born French director Tran Anh Hung, who will also write the screenplay. The characters have not yet been cast. Inspired by the novel translated into French, Tran proposed his idea of the film adaptation to Murakami in 2004.”
