[CHINA] SINGER INVOLVED IN CONTROVERSY IF THE RICH ARE CHALLENGING CHINA’S ONE CHILD FAMILY POLICY

According to today’s article from CRIEnglish.com, Mao Amin, a singer, gave birth to a boy on Sunday at a Shanghai hospital.

The problem is that in China, the family planning policy allows for couples to have one child.  The policy was established to curtail the rising population in China.  According to the policy as mentioned on the CRIEnglish.com article, “The family planning policy stipulates that an urban couple, if both husband and wife are only children, can have a second child and impoverished farmers can have a second if their first child is a girl.”

Those who have broke the rules have had to pay fine. But the question arises if loopholes allow the rich to get away with having a second child, while other’s can’t.   Many couples have their children in another country as a way to have more than one children.
