NEW YORK – November 13, 2008 – NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” has its own post-election “transition team” gearing up as the show begins adding new faces Abby Elliott and Michaela Watkins as featured players. They will begin appearing on the show this weekend.
Elliott, originally from Wilton, CT comes to “SNL” via the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater — the improv/sketch theater co-founded by “SNL” alum Amy Poehler – where she trained and performed in both their New York and Los Angeles theaters. In addition, Elliott trained with LA’s famed Groundlings Theater.
Born in Syracuse, NY and raised in Boston. MA comes to the show from the mainstage company of Los Angeles’ famed Groundlings Theater where such distinguished SNL cast members such as Will Ferrell, Phil Hartman, Laraine Newman and Kristen Wiig got their start.
