April 29, 2007 by Dennis Amith · Leave a Comment

In the latest Wai Wai article, the article is about comedian Shizu-chan and about her trying to find a man who would free her from virginity.  The article looks at several actors who can possibly do that.
According to the article, “A reputed favorite of the gigantic celebrity — she’s 182 centimeters tall, in a country where very few men even reach that height — is heartthrob actor Satoshi Tsumabuki.”

“She’d adored him for ages. They worked on a commercial together the year before last. Shizu-chan went around raving about how good-looking Tsumabuki is, and how he’s such a great guy,” a TV production company insider says. “Unfortunately for Shizu-chan, hers was an unrequited love.”

April 28, 2007 by Dennis Amith · Leave a Comment

The publication Chosun features an article on how the four top K-POP divas could be so hot!

According to the article, “Four divas lead Korean pop music with their emphasis on sex appeal. Lee Hyo-lee, IVY, Chae Yeon and Seo In-young all came back recently with new albums.”

“With her toned body, gleaming complexion and flowing locks, Lee Hyo-lee is of course Korea’s top sexy icon. Though IVY abandoned hotpants and long hair for a techno-gothic kind of look, her hourglass figure under tight clothes still looks great. April 27, 2007 by Dennis Amith · Leave a Comment

In a recent Daily Yomiuri article by Nishida Hiroshi, the article focuses on Kome Kome Club lead singer and also talented performer Ishii Tatsuya.

Nishida writes, “In reuniting the innovative pop band Kome Kome Club last year, singer Tatuya Ishii took the concept of being busy to an extreme. This means he has been working with the band in parallel with his own solo career, which earlier this month saw the release of his latest album, Sundial (Hidokei, out on Sony), a masterpiece featuring Britain’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.”

“When asked about his unabated creative appetite, Ishii emphasizes the need to draw a line between the sound of the band and that of his solo work.”

[JAPAN] Televiews / Hoteria

April 27, 2007 by Dennis Amith · Leave a Comment

In the latest article of Wm. Penn’s “Televiews”, Penn talks about the Japanese remake of popular Korean drama “HOTERIA”.

Penn writes, ”

Aya Ueto stars as Kyoko Odagiri, an assistant manager at the posh but financially troubled Tokyo Ocean Hotel. She seems far too young for the job but maybe she does deserve the post. They’ve got her spouting dialogue in English, Korean and Japanese.”

“Since Hotelier is based on a South Korean drama, there will naturally be a romantic triangle. But neither of the men in Kyoko’s life can compare with Bae Yong Joon, who makes a guest appearance as the manager of a major South Korean hotel. Kyoko still has some feelings for her mentor Ogata (Seiichi Tanabe), the former hotel manager who left in disgrace and has been floating around Seoul ever since. On his deathbed, the hotel owner sends her to Seoul to find him. He is needed to save the Ocean Hotel from bad guy Morimoto (Naoto Takenaka)–who hires mergers and acquisitions whiz Mizusawa (Mitsuhiro Oikawa) to help him take control. Mizusawa agrees only after meeting and being attracted to Kyoko in Seoul.”

[PR] ADV GETS AIR

Fan-Favorite TV Series Launches in August, Movie to Follow

HOUSTON, April 27, 2007 — Today ADV Films co-founder Matt  Greenfield announced that ADV has acquired exclusive home video and broadcast rights in North America for the anime series Air and the 85-minute Air Movie.  Greenfield made the announcement during a panel at Anime Matsuri, South Texas’ largest anime convention.  Volume one of the four-disc Air series will hit store shelves August 14, and the Air Movie is slated for release in late 2007.

Air is a fan-favorite series in Japan, having placed #32 in TV Asahi’s all time Top 100 Anime list (2006).  A product of the famous production studio Kyoto Animation (Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid, Inuyasha) and director Tatsuya Ishihara (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Kanon), Air is easily one of the most-anticipated series to reach our shores this year.  The standalone Air Movie, which was produced by Toei (Air Gear, Kanon) and directed by Osamu Dezaki (Black Jack The Movie), is a fitting finale to the Air mania sweeping North America.

In announcing these acquisitions, Greenfield said “as anime fans ourselves, we’re very excited to announce that ADV will be releasing Air, as it’s already being ranked as one of the most popular anime titles of all time in Japan, and the fans who have seen it here the States are equally enthusiastic in their praise.”

Greenfield continued, “we’re also pleased to say that, while negotiating a title that’s split between two different licensors can be tricky, we have indeed secured the rights for both the TV series and the movie,  thereby insuring total continuity between the English language versions.”

Synopsis: Yukito Kunisaki is a wandering puppeteer on a jouney to find “the girl in the sky,” a tradition his family has held for generations.  Upon arriving in a new town, he is befriended by a lonely young girl named Misuzu, who offers him a place to stay. Yukito soon begins to suspect that Misuzu has ties with “the girl in the sky” when she begins to speak of dreams of flying, but before his suspicions are confirmed, Yukito meets two more mysterious girls.  Now Follow Yukito as he pieces together the lives of three different girls to discover the truth of “the girl in the sky.”
