DVD REVIEW:

Reading the brief synopsis on the DVD's back cover, one must think that it's a Korean version of the American movie "FREQUENCY" but this is not the case.

Although there are similarities, "DITTO" is not a sci-fi thriller. It's about two students who go to the same school. Two students who communicate with each other via ham radio. Two students from different time periods.

Soeun is a university student from 1979 and In is a student in the year 2000. What happens when they discover they are from different time periods and can reality be changed by telling someone in the past, their future.

There is an interesting premise to this story but revealing it would ruin the whole movie for viewers. So, I will just say that this is a beautiful movie which did well in the box office. The two characters are enjoyable and the acting if Ji Tae Yoo especially Ha Neul Kim is great!

As for the HK version of the DVD, there is hardly any special features but a trailer and the typical lame database. The English subtitles have a few problems in the beginning but that's about it. As for the quality of the film, although the film is shot in really cool locations and the cinematography is pretty good, perhaps the DVD transfer looked faded because not until the end did I see the colors actually starting to look very nice. But it's still a movie with a beautiful story.

For one who wants to start getting into Korean films, this is one of the drama films I recommend buying. It's that good.
