DVD REVIEW:
This
is my first DVD review for a Tokyo Pop anime DVD. I wasn't sure
how it would be after watching the lackluster, many generation
quality of their SAINT TAIL Trailer in the DVD but I had high
hopes for this TV series of the popular VAMPIRE PRINCESS MIYU.
The
story of VAMPIRE PRINCESS MIYU is a half human, half vampire who
has a job of banishing demons (shinma) that have posessed or are
murdering humans. She also has the gift to give humans eternal
happiness through one bite.
Well,
the VAMPIRE PRINCESS MIYU TV SERIES is not as dark as the OAV
series but it's still enjoyable. In a way, each episode is different
and features a shinma that she and her guardian, larva must banish.
I
found the anime enjoyable and fun to watch and definitely made
for TV, without the darkness that perhaps many Miyu fans appreciate
more about the series. There are a total of 26 episodes and this
DVD contains episode 1-4.
As
for special features, there isn't really much but an image gallery
and I really didn't pay attention to the dub.
All
in all, for those who wanted more Vampire Princess Miyu since
the OAV series, although not as dark because it is a TV series,
you may enjoy the television series.
