Anime Synopsis:

Utena never wanted to be a Duelist.  She came to the Ohtori Academy in pursuit of the mysterious prince from her past, not to fight for possession of the Rose Bride.  The problem is that the Rose Bride - Anthy-is more than just a prize - she's Utena's friend.

But the President of the Student Council is also a Duelist, and he may be Utena's long-lost prince as well.  Can Utena fight the man she's loved since childhood?  If she doesn't, her best friend will lose her freedom!

DVD REVIEW:

I'm addicted to Revolutionary Girl Utena and I can't wait for more!  The second DVD features episode 8 through 13.  The series continues to get better now as Utena is set to duel against more of the student council.  WHOAH!

Well, this time the DVD comes with only six episodes (the first had seven).  Since this is a TV series, I'm not expect OAV quality.  As for the sound, again I don't expect major sound effects because it's from a TV series.  But the DVD has one problem which is the subtitles.  Although it is yellow, it is hard to see sometimes over a white background.  It needs to have a black edge like some anime I have seen.   As for the DVD in whole, I don' t have a DVD-rom, so I don't know about the other things it came with but the special features are simple.  The scene selections are good but for a multi-series on DVD, the "Haunted Junction" is the best menu system because you can skip to the theme, the anime sections before and after the main commercial, ending and the trailer.  On "Utena" it goes from the intro scene to I think the middle segment of the anime.  Oh well.   The DVD also comes out with trailers for other Software Sculptors anime releases and also, a segment to hear some of the songs.

Speaking about the songs, really interesting and unique songs in this anime.   Anyway, the DVD rocks!  Check it out!!!
