DVD REVIEW:
This anime series
based on a video game series is pretty cool. In a way, it reminded
me a lot of other anime series with girls trying to learn how
to operate their mecha.
You have five girls.
One who is a fighter, the other who is tomboy gun shooting fighter,
the other is a rich and smart builder and fighter, then there
is a girl who has some type of ESPer powers but she is very
young and then there is the main character who wants to follow
her family's footsteps and be a protector that wields a powerful
sword.
Can each of these
women with their own ego's fight together or will they constantly
piss each other off?
That's the storyline
of "Sakura Wars". It's actually pretty fun to watch.
At first, I didn't want to watch it because it was slow in the
beginning. Many characters and I didn't know what the heck their
objectives were. But as the character introductions started
to flesh out, you start getting interested in all of them.
As for the DVD, there
isn't much there but the angle change for English and Japanese
titles on the opening theme.
All in all a good
anime that deserves a long television series to give the anime
some justice. Four episodes to fit everything all in is difficult.
But all in all, a fun anime to watch.
