Taiyou no Uta

Excerpt from Televiews, July 26, 2006, Wm. Penn, Daily Yomiuri: The last series of the week was Taiyo no Uta (Fridays, 10 p.m., TBS network), the story of a woman with songwriting dreams who has a rare illness and cannot tolerate sunlight.

Takayuki Yamada, of Water Boys and Fire Boys fame, plays the guy destined to fall in love with her. This one was not too bad, but why make a TV series out of a story that just opened in movie theaters in June? What is the logic to that?
