Taiho Shichauzo (You're Under Arrest)

Based on the popular manga series, fans in the United States will know this drama series as a live drama based on the anime/manga series "Taiho Shichauzo" aka "You're Under Arrest" about two female traffic cops. Intelligent/car-lover Kobayakawa Miyuki (played by Hara) and wild and powerful Tsujimoto Natsumi (played by Ito). Kazushige Nagashima plays a motorcycle cop.

It was indeed a shock to hear that a drama was being made from Fujishima Kosuke's "Taiho Shichauzo". After all, I have watched this anime awhile back and of course, who is not a fan of Fujishima's "Ah! My Goddess" anime series. Of course, people are weirded out when they see an anime series become a live drama and although GTO was a popular manga/anime/dorama series, "Taiho Shichauzo" is a drama that would be better enjoyed by fans of the anime series than drama fans wanting a police story ala "Odoru Daisousassen". All in all, I enjoy watching this series but although a police related series, viewers shouldn't take this drama too seriously because it has it's cheesy moments.-KNDY
