Omizu no Hanamichi From Wm. Penn [Daily Yomiuri 1/14/99]: Fuji seems to have fizzled with "O-mizu no Hanamichi" (literally, Bar Hostesses on the Central Path, Wednesdays at 10 p.m.), a rather unctuous reference to "mizu-shobai" (businesses serving alcoholic beverages) starring Naomi Zaizen as a hostess turning 30. STARRING:
Zaizen Naomi, Kamikawa Takaya, Ishiki Sae, Hara Sachie,
Abe Hiroshi, Fujisaki Nanako, Toda Keiko, Inoue Harumi, Fujimura
Shunji and more. This was a drama I wasn't expecting to watch, but I found it one of the best dramas of the year so far. The cast has a few members from last year's "Shomuni" like Toda Keiko, but just replace Esumi Makiko with Zaizen Naomi. She's not bad at all.
