"Odoru Daisousassen" is a story about a police force in Tokyo Bay. Oda Yuji plays a cop and his friend/rival is a man who moved up in the ranks of the police force. Both have different jobs and they make a promise that no matter who moves up in rank, not to forget the hardworking police officer.

From KNDY: Each "Odoru Daisoussasen" series has an interesting focus. The first one was quite intense with one of their fellow police officers getting shot and watching how the department joins together to help each other. That's pretty much the subject of this drama about a police force, people doing the job they love. The first series focuses on Aoshima's debut as a detective.

The drama series of course focuses on Oda Yuji's character (Aoshima Shusaku) who is a person dedicated to the police force. He has an unconventional way of doing things but he is respected by his fellow police officers. But the life of the police office in Japan r is similar to salarymen where they take on not too serious cases. The serious ones are taken control by another group of detectives from headquarters which doesn't suit to well with Aoshima (who wants to take on the major cases) who does not want to sit idly just watching the other detectives handle the meatier cases.

I highly recommend checking out the movie which you can find via English subtitled titled "Tokyo Bay Shakedown" available where most Asian DVD's are sold.

This drama is just awesome. I believe it was the first series when everyone teamed up to help their injured officer friend and how each helped each other. It was an amazing site. Oda Yuji and Fukatsu Eri and also Hosaka Naoki and Ikariya Chosuke are just awesome. Also, check out the movie which is available on DVD via English subtitles ala fivestarlaser.com. As for the series, the characters are so interesting and the storyline is just beautiful. There is one segment in one of the series as all police officers try to find the bullet that wounded their fellow police officer in the rain. It's one of the most beautiful and painful scenes to watch because all are in anguish over their fellow police officer who was gun downed. Of course, the movie has an even more powerful scene near the end. Check it out! -KNDY
