Manhattan Love Story [Excerpt Daily Yomiuri, September 25, 2003, Wm. Penn]: Masahiro Matsuoka of TOKIO sports a definitely bushy, early 20th-century mustache in Manhattan Love Story, starting Oct. 9 at 10 p.m. on TBS. Perhaps, it is quite appropriate for the master of a retro coffee shop that serves only coffee and ice cream in a busy downtown business district. [Excerpt from Daily Yomiuri, November 6, 2003, Wm. Penn]: Fortunately, there will be a little more competition for the autumn quarter's Za Terebijon prizes, but this season has still produced more than enough losers, too. The only attraction of Manhattan Love Story (Thursdays at 10 p.m. on TBS network) is watching Masahiro Matsuoka's interpretation of a Chaplinesque coffee shop waiter. The uninspiring supporting cast does lend a slapstick touch, but the only thing Matsuoka has in common with Chaplin is the mustache. STARRING:
Matsuoka Masahiro I watched this and I like the cafe setting in Tokyo but it was a bit weird to see Matsuoka in the moustache and all. All in all it was an average drama but it actually ran longer than was expected. Copyright © 1993-2003
