Majo no Jouken (a.k.a A witches condition /Forbidden Love)
Nanako Matsushima, Hideaki Takizawa (Johnny's Jr.), Hitomi Kuroki brief description: a story of forbidden love between woman teacher Michi (Nanako Matsushima) and high school boy Hikaru (Hideaki Takizawa).  While working as a teacher, Michi is getting interested in the high school boy.  Although the story is not as depressing as "Kou Kou Kyoushi" (another teacher/student relationship drama but is very dark), this drama is pretty good.

In the Spring drama ratings, it appears that the general public favors "Majo no Joken", the story of student-teacher intimate relations (Thursdays at 10 p.m. on TBS network), at 21 percent, as the #2 drama of the season.

Hirose Michi(Matsushima Nanako) is a high school teacher. Kurosawa Hikaru (Takizawa Hideaki) transfers to the school where Michi teaches. Michi senses something different in Hikaru. From that moment on, the two have a special relationship, more than just teacher and student.

[TBS Synopsis]: Michi, a 26 year old high school math teacher, tentatively accepts her boyfriend's proposal of marriage, uncertain of her love for him but feeling pressure from her father and society to do what is expected of her. Hikaru, a 17 year old boy frustrated by his home life with his single mother and having been expelled from many high schools for bad behavior, enters Michi's class as a new transfer student. As their relationship grows they realize that they both feel that they have lost themselves to the pressures of those around them, and it is this common bond that draws them dangerously close. What follows is a heart-wrenching story of forbidden love where Michi must face society's judgement for corrupting a minor, abandoning her fiance, and disappointing her parents and co-workers.

REVIEWS:

A drama about a high school boy getting on with his beautiful female teacher is a boy's fantasy but to watch it on screen is another thing.   Especially with all the negative conotations that goes along with it.  It makes you think...what the hell is on your mind lady (the teacher).  But nevertheless with Takizawa's popularity, this drama will do well. - Cindy

Despite the taboo storyline, the drama is very well acted and just because it focuses on something that society will not accept doesn't make this drama a bad because the story is about a teacher and her student. These things happen and this movie portrays those problems that exist in society. Highly Recommended! - Jacque

"Majo no Jouken" is one of those dramas that can infuriate you, especially if one says that a teacher and student relationship is alright (when they know it's not).  It's sad that on the mailing lists, people think of Takizawa as a good kid for the teacher...and perhaps for them but it's only a drama people!  Anyways, with the current way things are happening in Japan with students and teachers fighting and everything, the sexual side is interesting to see...but the way it's done in this drama doesn't come close to how "Kou Kou Kyoushi" is.  This drama could have been more dark but nevertheless it's not bad.  It's a good drama but when compared to the "Kou Kou Kyoushi", it doesn't show the pain on both sides enough.  Definitely one of the best drama theme songs though!-KNDY
