TBS seems to be targeting thirtysomething viewers. "Love to Eros" (Love and Eros, July 2, 10 p.m.) is about a widow (Atsuko Asano) who lost her husband 10 years ago and runs her own lunch delivery service. Just as her late husband's old friend (Fumiya Fujii) is preparing to propose to her, his brother-in-law (Tomoya Nagase of TOKIO) meets the widow and is strongly attracted to her.

[TBS Synopsis]: When Kasumi's husband dies in a car wreck, Ryuichi vows to watch over her and her unborn son. Over the next ten years, he gradually falls in love with Kasumi. Now 35 years old, Kasumi has resisted loving another man for fear of reliving the pain of losing a loved one. She happens to meet Ryuichi's bad boy younger brother and finds herself physically attracted to him; but Ryuichi finally acts on his bottled-up feelings for Kasumi and asks her to marry him. Kasumi must decide if she can risk truly loving another man like Ryuichi, or if she can be content with the purely physical relationship that his brother can provide.

This drama had a lot of potential but then it became a story about infidelity and a wife screwing with her husband's brother. This is probably the most sexual I have seen Atsuko play in any drama but at the same time I found it disturbing. Of course, they had to have the interesting and depressing ending....-KNDY
