Kurosagi

[Excerpt from Televiews, April 27, 2006 - Wm. Penn, Daily Yomiuri]: Surprisingly, one of the more watchable series this quarter is Kurosagi (TBS Network, Fridays, 10 p.m.). It gives Tomohisa Yamashita, of the Johnny's Jimusho group News, a chance to show his acting ability as he plays a modern-day conartist Robin Hood. He cons the corrupt to vindicate and reimburse their victims. Suffering from such scams in his own youth, our clever but troubled hero is out to right today's wrongs using a variety of disguises and cell phones. Lurking behind the scenes is a mysterious "fixer." In a society where conartists are proliferating and justice for the little guy is hard to get, it is no wonder this series has started out well in the ratings. Worth a glance.
