Koi no Kiseki (Miracle of Love)

Written by Yuko Morita.  A story of fat girl Taeko (Riona Hazuki).  After beautiful girl Yukino (Miho Kanno) (one of Taeko's relatives) describes Taeko as an ugly girl, Taeko consults a young doctor (Seiichi Tanabe) and announces she'll reduce her weight.  At last, she becomes a slim girl, and enters the showbiz world.

[Summary by Ken-Chan]

Koi no Kiseki at 9 p.m. on TV Asahi was the week's big surprise. It was more interesting than I suspected it would be and it just might be a hidden ratings winner. Riona Hazuki was very convincing in her obese makeup. She plays Taeko, a kind and warmhearted woman, who prefers cake to concentrating too much energy on her weight, until the mysterious Yukino moves in.  Everyone believes Yukino is a relative from the countryside during the four years she boards with the family, but there is a secret lurking here somewhere. When it appears Yukino has murdered her mother, Taeko herself contemplates suicide. She is saved by a young doctor who supervises a yearlong diet that turns her into the Riona Hazuki we know. Now she is out to get close to Yukino, and one assumes, get revenge. This one may just sneak up to a significant place in the ratings, although it is up against some tough competition in the Thursday 9 p.m. slot.

Tsukamoto Taeko(Hazuki Riona) had one big problem:her obesity. One day,Kurata Yukino(Kanno Miho) ,supposedly a relative's daughter, comes over to stay with the Tsukamotos. At first, she treated Yukino like a sister, but as time goes by, Taeko sees Yukino's attitude change drastically.

REVIEWS:

Wow!  For a TV ASAHI drama....you would think this is a Fuji TV drama.  After watching the season finale, I must say that I did enjoy the drama but then it carried an NTV screwiness between Yukino that leaves you with a feeling of "that girl is psycho!"....a good drama but the last minute of the finale (after the credits)....I don't think they should have included it.
