Kochira Hon Ikegami Sho (This is Hon Ikegami Police Station)

This summer, Masanobu Takashima, of Hotel fame, will get that golden hour to star in the cop comedy Kochira Hon Ikegami Sho, starting July 15. He plays a Tokyo University graduate-turned-law enforcement officer who lives with his mother and his daughter played by Morning Musume's Kago Ai. The story is centered around a small neighborhood police station in Tokyo's Ota Ward. The series is based on the Shukan Morning manga Keisatsu Shocho and first debuted in the comic book "Evening in 1999".

[TBS Synopsis for 1st Series]: Police chief in a blue-collar part of town called Central Ikegami, Keisuke is known for his laziness. But looks can be deceiving! Having graduated from an elite university, Keisuke merely prefers to lead an unassuming life without all the politics of climbing the department ladder. But the chief always gets the job done when the people need him, and they appreciate his unpretentious attitude. Some are sure to be surprised when they underestimate this deceptively folksy crime-fighter!

[TBS Synopsis for 2nd Series]: Synopsis There has been a rash of graffiti in the Hon-ikegami station’s area. Police commissioner Shiina (Masanobu Takashima) tries to think of solutions, but Maejima (Bengaru) says that we are too short-staffed to really address the problem. At the same time, the rash of car theft that has spread around the country visits the Hon-ikegami area. New head of 2nd Division, Oyamada (Tokuma Nishioka), wants to solve the crimes quickly as does the station’s second-in-command Aoyagi (Isao Hashizume). However Shiina starts investigating the graffiti incidents himself...
