KAGAYAKE RINTAROU (Lighten up Rintarou)

Rintaro , 32 (Karasawa) is a single man who lives with his mother (Kirin). He is engaged to Michiru (Tsukimi) a fellow co worker. The show centers on Rintaro's relationship with his mother, his fiancee, and Tsunoda (Esumi) who likes him from afar. This is a really funny, family show.

I didn't expect on this drama before watching. Actually, first 4 or 5 eps were boring. But after one happening, it became most favorite drama for me. Especially, Makiko Esumi who is new actress was good.  I say this is the best drama in 1995. (I want to say it's "For You" because I'm big fan of Miho Nakayama so I can not.)   Rintarou (Karasawa) is working for advertisement company. He has a mother(Kiki) but doesn't have father who is supposed to die when Rintarou was kid. Therefore, his mother takes care of him too much.  So his mother can not put up with his girl friend who is going to continue to work after marrige. But a big happening will happen and his life will be changed...

The 32-year-old man at the center of this drama works as a salesman at an advertising agency. Between his outspoken mother and a challenging circle of friends, rivals, and fellow workers, he battles with stubborn optimism to find happiness in career and marriage. His journey is a heartwarming tale of growth and maturity.

REVIEWS:

In 1995, there were many dramas that could of been #1, of course, this year, "Aishitteru to itte kure" won #1 and this drama along with "For You" perhaps got #2 and #3.  This drama is very good, a little slow in the beginning but that was because it had to set up the awesome storyline for the beginner.  This is one of those dramas that you will enjoy and respect.  Highly recommended.
