Hitoribocchi no Kimi ni (For Lonely You)

Hama-chan plays a manager of a conbini (Convenience Store), "Holiday Mart" where a little boy occassionally comes in and steals.  It starts to piss Hama-chan off and so he has his fun with the kid when he catches him steal in the act.  The thing is it bothers him and he doesn't know why the kid steals?   He starts to follow the kid, to see where he lives and so forth and then one day while he visits the kid's apartment, the kid has a big fever and Hama-chan comes to the rescue taking care of the kid.   From here you can tell this boy is going to change his life somehow...and ol' Hama-chan starts to care for the child.

Unfortunately, it bothers him that the parents aren't around, there's hardly anything for the kid to eat in the apartment...and then a woman shows up to the kid's apartment who Hama-chan mistakes as the mother and slaps her and she turns out to be....

O.k. enough spoilers for episode 1, so far with episode 1 it's been a good drama.  One thing that I'm critical of when a drama features a child actor is his acting.  I don't know many dramas that I have watched where the kid can't act for beans (exception: Akashi Ryotarou, the little kid on "For You" and "Brothers") but in this case...the boy is average.  Not as bad let's say comparing to the acting of the little boy on "Second Chance".  Also, I find it kind of humorous to see a story of a conbini manager (especially if it's Hama-chan) and a young boy....and the thing is you see some of Hamada's antics (like when he pushes the boy down)...  The drama does have a humorous appeal to it that makes it interesting to watch.  It's not as serious and it's hard for me to laugh once in awhile when Hamada tries to be serious.  So, if you want a humorous, fun drama to watch for the summer, "Hitoribochi no Kimi ni" will do just that.

It's a very interesting drama.  It has its good parts but it gets dry near the end.  They try to get emotional at times but it doesn't work at times.  It's an average drama.
