HACHIGATSU NO LOVE SONG (August Love Song)

This is the story of a young woman who is trying her best in love, work and home while holding on to painful memories. Chika (Hazuki) is a 23 year old singer song writer. Her mother died just suddenly and her father (Ogata ) runs a Chuka Ryori restaurant. Chika's friend Rie (Isshiki) also is a singer song writer after she failed to get any work done as a ghost writer.  Kotaro (Kato ) runs the Japanese branch of a big American discount shop. He acquires the Chuka Ryori shop from Chika's father.

Chika ends up liking Kotaro but Kotaro feels work is more important than a relationship.........Will they end up together?  Chika (Hazuki Riona) is a ghost writer. She writes songs but never receives the credit for writing them. She writes songs for Rie (Isshiki Sae) a so called singer songwriter who treats everyone including Chika like crap. Domon (Ogata Ken) is the chief chef and owner of his Chuka Ryori restaurant. His wife dies suddenly and it is emotionally difficulut for him and Chika to deal with.  Kotaro (Kato Katsuya?) is the president of an American subsidiary in Japan, something to do with discount shops. Taking advantage of the Domon's emotional state, he tries to buy out Domon's ownership of the restaurant. Domon is about to sign the papers to hand over the shop, but Chika comes and stops her father from doing that.  Later, Kotaro meets Chika and asks her to go out with him (be my girlfriend).  Chika is puzzled by this. She asks Kotaro if he is doing this so that he can get the restaurant from her father . He doesn't answer.   She tells Kotaro that he has eyes that have never truely loved anyone. As she turns away to leave Kotaro, he tells her (Have you ever really loved anyone?) For her latest song 'Setsunakute, koi' Chika is denied credit once again, after being promised by Rie's manager that credit would be given to her. Rie tells Chika that since Chika is an unknown her songs won't sell (in other words if Rie is given credit, the song will sell). Chika, upset , quits. Chika tells Rie to find another song writer to write for her.  Mr. Domon, feeling down, walks outside at night. He stops at a local mobile ramen stand for a bite. One of the customers next to him leaves without touching a bit of the ramen. The owner of the shop is dumbfounded but tells Domon that his ramen is still bad, because he just started this job after many years as a salaryman. Domon teaches the ramen cook a bit about cooking ramen and the ramen cooks regains his confidence.  Feeling good about helping another cook, Domon realizes that he can't sell the shop to Kotaro. He is resolved to keep the restaurant going.  Chika begins to think about Kotaro more and more. Why does he want to go out with me?
