ERAI TOKORO NI TOTSUIDE SHIMATTA

Penn, Daily Yomiuri, January 21, 2007]:Unfortunately, watching Yukie Nakama star in the newlyweds comedy Erai Tokoro ni Totsuide Shimatta (Thursdays, 9 p.m., TV Asahi network) is not nearly as enjoyable as watching Shinohara keep smug company men in line. Nakama is good as a thoroughly modern woman who unwittingly marries into a thoroughly traditional country family where superstitions, traditions and rigid rules still rule. But the storyline may hit just a little too close to home for many viewers who are living a less entertaining version of the same reality. The slapstick attempts at comedy got a bit tedious after the first 15 minutes too. Nakama's name alone should be enough to keep this series on viewers' radar, but it barely rates two blips.
