WHAT IS "Boku ga Boku de aru tameni" ALL ABOUT:  The members of SMAP play former high school classmates who were members of the Ekiden team 6 years ago. This drama depicts the changes in character over the past 6 years and the members future endeavors. Naruse (Nakai), Chikara or Riki (Kimura), Kinoshita (Inagaki), and Etsuro (Kusanagi) are all 24 years of age. Satoru (Katori) is 22 years old. Satoru was an ichinensei when the team won the prefectural Ekiden meet. After they graduated from high school they all went on their own separate paths.  Naruse is a marathon runner for a sporting goods firm. After his senpai gets discharged due to an injury, Naruse also worries about his own future. Hirosue Ryoko plays Naruse's younger sister. Chikara works as a model scout. He is still not used to his work. Although he has been living with Natsumi (Tsuruta) for about 3 years, he still has many relationships with different women. Recently, Natsumi has been very cold but then she meets Naruse.... Kinoshita is a 6th year student studying medicine. His father has chosen the career path for Kinoshita and apparently he doesn't want to be a doctor. Kinoshita doesn't seem to be attending classes at the time although his seat will be always available to him. Segawa (Seto) is an acquaintance of Kinoshita. She goes to same college and vounteers her time at the welfare center. She understands Kinoshita very well. Satoru is a college senior. He is infatuated with the older Sonoko (Suzuki). Sonoko has a child. Satoru lies to Sonoko about being a top salaryman and Sonoko lies to Satoru about being a painting/picture restoration artist. Although they were Ekiden team members and friends from before, they seem to have forgotten the friendship and it will probably never return to the way it was. But Etsuro who works as a salaryman, still believes that things are just the same as they were 6 years ago. When Etsuro decides to announce his wedding plans with Nakamura (Matsu), the boys come together. Nakamura's parents are totally against the marriage. Because things between the members have changed a lot, Etsuro is really shocked and hurt. There will be an accident in the show (didn't say who was involved) and Karasawa Toshiaki,and Shiina Kippei will make guest appearances.

Highly recommended!  It's great to see a drama with all SMAP members that is not corny and also it has an all star cast (look at all the female actresses involved...wow!).  It's very good and very sad! Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster with this drama.  - KNDY
