Anego

[Excerpt from Daily Yomiuri, Televiews, Wm. Penn, April 27, 2004]: Anego (Wednesdays, 10 p.m., NTV network), is in the running with a solid script by Miho Nakasono, based on the novel by Mariko Hayashi.

Anego has a definite ring of realism to it, even though 32-year-old heroine Naoko Noda (Ryoko Shinohara) will share some romantic scenes with her young coworker Kurosawa, 22. Jin Akanishi, of the Johnny's Jimusho pop music group Kat-tun, plays Kurosawa, who finds Noda fascinating despite the age gap. It is he who gives her the older-sister nickname "Anego."

Shinohara is perfect for the role of the lovable Noda, a single working woman, who has never had an affair with a married man. She maintains her integrity in the stifling world of corporate shenanigans and office love while providing support for other women not faring as well.
